The first time I opened the wrapping of this hinoki cutting board, I noticed its incredible wood scent immediately — even before it was fully unwrapped. It smells so good.
Hinoki, Japanese cypress, is known for its deeply fragrant aroma, natural antimicrobial properties, and exceptional durability. Traditionally, it has been used in high-end construction such as shrines and temples, as well as for furniture and kitchenware.
Thanks to its naturally antibacterial and water-resistant qualities, hinoki is an ideal material for a cutting board. And its elegant, calming aroma truly brings joy into the kitchen.
Made from a single piece of Japanese cypress wood, this board measures 24 × 42 × 3 cm.

Care & Maintenance

Before use, lightly wet the board and wipe off excess water.

After use, wash promptly with water or mild detergent, wipe dry, and air-dry in a well-ventilated place.

Do not soak, use in a dishwasher or dryer, or expose to direct sunlight or heat.

Natural resin may appear on the surface over time. This is harmless and a natural characteristic of hinoki. If needed, wipe gently with diluted vinegar, warm water, or alcohol.
