Traditionally, miso soup is served in wooden bowls. Because it is such an essential part of everyday meals in Japan, there are countless variations of wooden soup bowls to choose from. Among them, these Ishizue bowls immediately stood out to me for their exceptional craftsmanship.
At Yohaku Mokkōsha, each bowl is made start to finish by a single craftsperson, a rare approach as most workshops divide the process into separate roles. Knowing that every step is handled by one pair of hands, and with real care, makes each bowl feel quietly special.
Ishizue bowls are made of the native Japanese wood "Keyaki", urethane finished, handcrafted in Japan by Yohaku Mokkōsha.

Care & Maintenance
Do not use in an oven or microwave.
Wash gently with dish soap and a soft sponge. Do not use a dishwasher or abrasive scrubbers.
Do not soak in water or leave food inside for extended periods.
As each bowl is made from natural wood, the grain and pattern vary from piece to piece. Please enjoy these natural differences as part of the material’s character.
